Foundation System Strategies + Structural System Selection

Exercise Overview

 

There are two parts to Exercise 4.
In Exercise 4a you are asked to review material from Lesson 2.1.1 and consider design strategies for a foundation system for your studio project.

In Exercise 4b you will be asked to develop strategies for proposing and evaluating structural system options for your studio project.

Using structural guidelines and member performance tables presented previously, select material, geometry and systems to match your special constraints.

If you are in Section 001 please read the following carefully:

  1. You have not yet begun to develop your studio project please use your Embassy Precedent Study project for Exercise 4a and 4b.

  2. If your studio section is not working with Precedent Studies, please see your Studio Instructor for direction as to how to complete these exercise.

If you are in Section 002 please work with your studio project and your studio team.

Please consider consulting with your studio instructors on the development of your work for both parts of this exercise.
