Window Openings

The lesson introduces design concepts for the window openings in a façade. The window to wall ratio, the placement of the window, and the placement of the ventilation openings have an influence to the occupant satisfaction, human comfort, and the energy demand. Design concepts to improve the daylight distribution and the air flow of the natural ventilation are presented. The lesson shows how the energy demand can be reduced by considering the window openings.
