Lesson 4.1.5
Exercise 2 Intro: Façade Design… Material Selection and Composition
Exercise 2 Introduction
This brief introduction will help guide you through Exercise 2 which asks you to begin thinking of the material palate to be used in your facade/building envelope system as well as your strategy for composing the overall facade. We are interested in how you develop your window types and how you position them within your building walls. Along with the material presented in this series of lessons, we would like you to begin considering not only what material systems you will choose, but what construction systems you will be using to connect your facade back to your building structure. This topic will be developed further in subsequent lessons and exercises as you develop representative wall sections through your building facade.
Coordinate this work with your studio work. The idea is to use the same drawings for each. The intention is to help prepare you for your Wall Section Cross Check / Review
